2025 Fishing Season: Hot Days, Big Catches, and Wildfires
The 2025 fishing season kicked off with a mix of exciting action and unexpected challenges. While anglers enjoyed some incredible fishing, the season was also marked by the threat of wildfires, which had a significant impact on operations. A couple of the Trophy Waters member lodges and outposts had to remain closed for most of May and well into June due to the fires, leaving a gap in what would otherwise have been an exceptional year. Despite these setbacks, the overall fishing numbers are still impressive.
In total, 2,200 trophy fish were registered this season, which was just shy of the 2024 season’s total of 2,409. When you consider that two lodges and several outposts were unable to contribute to this year’s tally, it’s clear that 2025 would have surpassed last year’s record if not for the disruptions caused by the fires. The numbers alone highlight how much progress we’ve made in recent years.
Walleye: 31.5”
Northern Pike: 45.5”
Lake Trout: 40.5”
Smallmouth Bass: 22.5”
Each season continues to bring bigger fish and more memorable catches, and I’m excited to see what 2026 has in store. Trophy Waters will continue to raise the bar for world-class fishing adventures. Thank you to the listed members who have, year after year, shown commitment of preservation and great fishing in our Trophy Waters Area!
